Bernd Bauer has been Chief Executive Officer of Discover Airlines since October 1,2022. At the same time, he has been Chief Executive Officer of Edelweiss Air AG in Switzerland, also a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, since 2014. He leads both of the two independent leisure airlines.

From 2002 until he started at Edelweiss, Bernd Bauer held various management positions at Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. First as Vice President Network & Fleet Development, then as Managing Director Sales & Marketing Europe and finally as Vice President Revenue Management, Pricing & Distribution. From 1994 to 2002, Bernd Bauer held various positions in the commercial division of Crossair Ltd. in Basel.

Bernd Bauer was born on August 31, 1965 in Tuebingen, Germany. He is married and has two children.
